Dear Waconia Area Chamber of Commerce members:
It is with great pride that I welcome you to another amazing year with our Waconia Area Chamber of Commerce. As the 2025 Board Chair, I am honored to serve alongside a dedicated team of local leaders and volunteers who share a collective commitment to continue advancing the Chamber’s mission to promote Waconia as a place to live, work and play. Together, we are committed to collaborating and working with you and our community partners to contribute to Waconia’s growth, prosperity and quality of life for all who make this wonderful community their home and place of business.
In the early 1960s, a group of Waconia business leaders set forth a vision to bring a much-needed hospital to this community – bringing critical health care services, technology and employment opportunities to Waconia and the surrounding Carver County area. The then-Waconia Ridgeview Hospital opened in July 1963, just more than one year after the Waconia Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau was founded. It is remarkable to reflect on the foresight of the Chamber and city leaders – as we celebrate the significant growth and impact on the quality of life we appreciate here today.
I am proud to have worked at Ridgeview for more than 22 years, serving the last 15 years as director of Marketing & Communications of our national-recognized, growing regional health care system. I also have the opportunity to lead Ridgeview’s volunteer program, connecting community members with opportunities to share their time and talent in ways that bring value to them, our patients and community.
Businesses are the lifeblood of any thriving community, and our Chamber is dedicated to providing resources, advocacy and networking opportunities that advance businesses and tourism initiatives and also strengthen the connections that unite us as a community. From our vibrant downtown, scenic and lake areas to Waconia’s rich history and welcoming neighborhoods, Waconia offers something for everyone. Our Board of Directors and greater Chamber membership share a common goal to elevate our visibility, attract new residents, visitors, businesses and investors to further enrich our vibrant community.
In 2025, I invite each of you to actively engage with the Chamber, share your ideas and take part in the programs and events that make our organization a strong voice and force for progress. As Board Chair, I am committed to collaborating closely with you and our Board of Directors, community members, businesses and other key stakeholders to advance our shared mission of an even better Waconia for all. Thank you for all you do to benefit the greater Waconia community – today and tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Lisa Steinbauer
